This is not one for the traditionalists or for the sweet gin lovers – although it is a distilled gin, it doesn’t follow the usual flavour profiles with no hint of citrus or warm spice and instead treads its own path with a nose that I can only describe as richly green and a peppery start mellowing out to a smooth roundness that would almost convince you that gin is one of your five a day!
A slice of green apple and a serving of Mediterranean tonic bring out the salad sweet notes, but the perfect serve is a slice of gherkin and some rosemary tonic (a wee sprig of rosemary in standard tonic does the trick if you can’t lay your hands on the premade one).
